Scholar Cite Copier is a free browser extension that adds one-click citation copying (APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, Vancouver, BibTeX) next to results on Google Scholar. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.
Scholar Cite Copier does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or search activity. It has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
| Data | Why it’s needed |
|---|---|
| The content of the Google Scholar page you’re viewing | To find each result’s native “Cite” control and read the citation text it provides |
| Clipboard write access | To copy the citation text you requested |
The extension’s host_permissions are limited to Google Scholar’s own
domains (scholar.google.com and its regional variants) plus
scholar.googleusercontent.com, which is where Google Scholar hosts BibTeX
files. No other websites are accessed.
The extension’s popup includes an optional link to the developer’s Ko-fi page (https://ko-fi.com/larpstudios) for anyone who wants to support development. Clicking it opens Ko-fi in a new tab; the extension does not send Ko-fi any information about you, and using the extension’s features never requires visiting that link.
If this extension’s behavior changes in a way that affects what data it accesses, this policy will be updated accordingly, and the “Last updated” date above will reflect that.
